Wealth is creatable and unlimited

By Donald S. Conkey – The Bible begins by stating: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Later John would add to this declaration “All things were made (created) by him; …” Still later America’s initial document, the Declaration of Independence would be ‘created’ by Thomas Jefferson, implied that “the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God” would become the cornerstones of America’s freedoms and liberties.
In paragraph two Jefferson declared “that all Men are ‘created’ equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among them are “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness – …” Two words connect these declarative phrases: creativity and creator. Creativity, a noun, is defined as “the ability to create new ideas or things” and create, a verb, is defined as “the ability to bring something into existence. Both God and Jefferson used their ‘creativity;’ God to create the heaven and earth and Jefferson to create America’s unique Declaration of Independence.

Today’s divisive political debates revolve around Obama’s administration’s desire for the “redistribution of wealth” from America’s ‘haves’ to America’s ‘have nots.’ Obama’s political agenda has caused a serious class warfare to develop between America’s taxed and non-taxed and could lead to America’s self-destruction. The assumption of Obama’s administration, aside from gaining power and personal wealth, is that there is a limited amount of wealth in the world and that this limited wealth needs to be equally shared by the rick with the less fortunate and poor. This is a false assumption.

Wealth is creatable and is unlimited. God, in creating the world, provided all the needed materials to create unlimited wealth. When creating man, in his own image, he endowed mankind with ‘creativity’ similar to his own so that man could create wealth, wealth sufficient for all mankind, in all generations. But it requires more than God’s materials and man’s creativity to create wealth; it requires a government of law that creates a level playing field for all businesses to operate on with limited rules administered fairly and equably for all those blessed with the ‘creativity’ to ‘create’ and “bring something into existence.” These creative people create the jobs that provide the wealth for those willing to work, educate themselves, employ others, and provide for their own.

H. Verlan Anderson, in his book, “The Moral Basis of a Free Society,” states that “Wealth consists of raw materials and energy so organized that we may use it to accomplish our purposes.” Anderson implies God has provided all the necessary basic raw materials and energy for mankind to create the wealth needed to satisfy their basic needs, food, shelter, clothing, etc., and when these materials are used up they are reorganized and used again.

He then states “Freedom and incentive are directly related to one another … and are utterly dependent upon the ownership and control of property and when man is permitted to enjoy the fruits of his labor and use the wealth which he produces to achieve his own objectives the incentive to produce wealth is guaranteed …” [but] if he is denied the right to own that wealth or if it is so regulated in its use the powerful freedom incentive is destroyed and with it all that wealth which it could otherwise bring into existence.”

He continued: “Therefore, no matter how abundant the natural resources of a nation, how plentiful the capital equipment, or how able the people, unless these two factors – freedom and incentive – are present no wealth will be produced. … Whenever government uses it powers to prohibit the people from entering into legitimate economic activities wherein they can produce wealth for themselves, or when government regulates the citizens in the use of their property … it is to this same extent reducing the amount of wealth produced in that nation. The only alternative is forced labor (socialism).” Continuing, he writes: “To deny the right of ownership and control of property to one who endured the pain of physical and mental toil to organize it is contrary to the rules of justice and common sense. Throughout history moral man has recognized and undertaken to protect the right of private property.”

This year’s election debates center around the “unpredictability” of the Obama administration, especially its taxing policies; its redistribution of wealth from haves to have nots; and its destruction of the freedom and incentives necessary for creative people to create products and reinvest in America, investments necessary to create needed jobs. America, consider your vote carefully November 2.
